This study aims to validate an intervention program from a psychological perspective, focused on emotional communication to prevent domestic violence in households in the Pueblo Nuevo neighborhood, Colón province, during 2021. A quasi experimental design is used, with a correlational, descriptive, and cross-sectional approach. Given the rise in domestic violence cases reported in Colón province and nationwide, which has raised concern in the media and society, there is a need to understand the current situation of domestic violence and applicable prevention strategies. From this analysis, the goal is to develop a program that helps prevent these situations and stop the onset of violent behavior. Throughout this thesis, it has been identified that communication is a key factor in the household, as proper communication helps prevent situations that can lead to domestic violence, fostering good coexistence models and forming adults with better communication skills. Initially, communication was perceived as effective; however, after conducting surveys, it was found that this perception was incorrect, as it did not meet the necessary standards to prevent domestic violence.
